About University of Guelph

Founded in 2002, The University of Guelph-Humber became the first of its' kind within Ontario to offer students the opportunity to complete both a honours bachelor degree and diploma within four years. Through a collaboration between the University of Guelph and Humber College Institute of Technology & Advanced Learning, the University of Guelph-Humber was founded on the principle of integrating experiential learning opportunities into the traditional academic curriculum. Drawing from the expertise and knowledge of both renowned founding institutions, the University of Guelph-Humber offers students focused programs, a close-knit community with small class sizes, the chance to conduct undergraduate research, and opportunities to gain significant workplace experience. Years later, what continues to make the university unique is the integration of theory and workplace experience in all of their programs, with nearly 5,000 full-time students.

Learning Supports Peers Program: Learning Support Peers are current students who are available to offer academic support and provide general information about programs, assist with course selection, provide direction in the area of academic resources and personal support services, and inform students of policies and procedures. LSPs also offer a series of Learning Skills Workshops available to all students. The workshops they offer include the following: Test Preparation, Reading and Note-Taking, Time Management, Overcoming Procrastination, Stress Management and Self-Care, and Presentation Skills.

Post-study work information

Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP). Graduating from a designated learning institution does not automatically make a student eligible for a PGWP; not every program at a DLI qualifies, and eligibility can depend on the program, language results, field of study and other requirements. Eligibility is checked for each program — see the program page.
