About Blyth Academy

Blyth Academy was founded in 1977 as a private school board in Canada. Blyth Academy was a pioneer in the early years of education and adventure travel. Amongst various educational firsts, was the establishment of a Canadian high school in France, the Lycée Canadien en France. As well as a university campus, the Universite Canadienne En France, and the first accredited high school program on the campus of Oxford University.

Blyth Academy is Canada’s leading private school by enrollment. With average class sizes of seven, individuated teaching and an experiential approach, Blyth Academy offers excellent university preparation. More than 98 per cent of Blyth Academy graduates attend the universities and colleges of their first choice. Students have received admissions offers from some of the top universities in the world including Cambridge, Harvard, Yale, Stanford, and MIT.

Blyth Academy Burlington is a flourishing private school conveniently located in the historic Village Square in the heart of downtown Burlington. In addition to the complete Blyth Academy academic program, the Burlington campus offers Advanced Sports Training for athletes in partnership with Conacher Athletics. Blyth Academy Burlington is designed to ensure student-athletes receive both the best academic opportunities and access to an established athletic program offering advanced training in the student’s chosen sport each and every day. Students in the athletic program receive a consultation to help guide them through the NCAA Scholarship process. Current sports training offered include hockey, figure skating, soccer, lacrosse, baseball and fitness, while any sport can be accommodated. Blyth Academy Burlington is a school of 80 students. This allows the school to be personally in touch with every individual, yet large enough to offer a broad range of courses. When combined with first-class care and great teaching, wonderful things happen and students flourish. Blyth Academy Burlington is very proud of the accomplishments and success of its notable alumni Noah Zulfikar and Damien Bourne.

An Empathetic Learning Environment: Blyth Academy Burlington takes great pride in providing a learning environment that is inclusive, with teachers and support staff that can engage with students on both an academic and emotional level.

Enhanced Rate of Academic Success: Blyth Academy Burlington is ministry inspected, adheres to all provincial standards and provides official transcripts. Small Classes, Individual Attention: International students account for 10% of campus enrollment and are provided with a very personalized educational program. They receive individual attention from teachers and are always engaged with an average class size of fewer than 8 students. International students are offered a very unique experience as they are fully immersed with Canadian students. They have a wonderful opportunity to improve their language skills and make new Canadian friends.

Post-study work information

Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP). Graduating from a designated learning institution does not automatically make a student eligible for a PGWP; not every program at a DLI qualifies, and eligibility can depend on the program, language results, field of study and other requirements. Eligibility is checked for each program — see the program page.
