Overview

Program Description This program consists of a pathway program offered by StudyGroup at the International Study Centre at the University of Sussex followed by entry into a university program offered at the University of Sussex. In the International Year One programme, you will study courses related to your intended field of study alongside English to develop and enhance your skills as a student. Advancement into your intended program depends upon the successful completion of the pathway program. The Pre-Masters in Business, Media and Social Sciences, provides a route to a variety of postgraduate degrees at the University of Sussex. English language and career skills are combined with subject-specific modules such as social sciences, cultural studies, and a variety of business skills such as accounting, finance and business management to provide you with a strong foundation for your chosen business, media and social sciences degree. Sussex is recognised globally for teaching and research in international development. This course is for you if you have experience, or are considering a career, in the development field. Sussex has the largest department in the UK focusing on social anthropology and pioneered the anthropological critique of development. We examine the impact of economic and social change on local practices, meanings and identities. The MA focuses on issues of anthropological engagement, development policy and activism. You will learn from experts. You can also connect with our global network of research partnerships, alumni and professionals in the public, private, consultancy and not-for-profit sectors.
