Overview

The Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is an academic degree focused on the science and principles of nursing. It broadens the scope of nursing practice and qualifies students for advanced professional career opportunities across a wide range of healthcare settings, both locally and globally. CSUMB does not offer a direct-entry BSN program. All entering students must be graduates of an Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) program and hold a current California Registered Nursing (RN) license. Students are awarded 20 units of nursing credit upon successful completion of the NCLEX examination. The BSN degree can be completed in approximately 12 to 15 months, depending on the chosen pathway.

OPT and STEM OPT eligibility depend on maintaining F-1 status and on the program. A program counts as STEM only when its CIP code is on the official STEM list — not because its name sounds technical.
