Overview

There are several exciting areas in which Practical Nurses can provide care. Areas include child care, maternity nursing, community health, mental wellness, senior care, and medicine. The program can be started in the winter, spring, or fall terms. The program offers a duration of five terms to allow learners time to focus on nursing content and to consolidate learning. Knowledge and experience are gained through classroom study, online courses, lab settings, and a variety of care facilities throughout the program. The structured program delivery and timetable are intended to support successful learning. Enrollment in this program indicates a commitment to education as a priority over personal or work obligations. The Practical Nurse program is delivered through different pathways that are offered in person on campus, online synchronously, or a combination of both. It is highly recommended that prospective students participate in the in-person New Student Orientation, as important program information will be discussed and participants will have an opportunity to ask questions.

About the Institution

Since 1965, Bow Valley College has prided itself on being a student-focused community college that is immensely diverse. That diversity is reflected across the breadth and depth of their programming scope, including foundational skills development and English language learning. They offer certificate and diploma programs in health care, community services, business and creative technologies and many of their career programs include work experience. This means students will get hands-on experience before they graduate. If one already has a degree, the post-diploma certificates give students the...
