Overview

The Computer Programming – AI Solutions program is designed to provide students with a strong foundation in computer programming, software development, and artificial intelligence. Students develop practical skills in coding, database management, application development, data analysis, machine learning, and the implementation of AI-powered solutions. The program emphasizes hands-on learning through projects, assignments, and real-world problem-solving. Students learn how to design, develop, test, and maintain software applications while exploring how artificial intelligence can be integrated into modern business and technology environments. The curriculum may also cover object-oriented programming, web development, data structures, algorithms, cloud-based technologies, and software quality assurance. In addition to technical expertise, students strengthen their communication, teamwork, analytical thinking, and project-management skills. They also explore responsible AI practices, including data privacy, security, ethics, and the social impact of AI technologies. Graduates may pursue entry-level opportunities such as computer programmer, junior software developer, application developer, AI solutions developer, data analyst, quality assurance analyst, or technical support specialist. They may also continue their education in computer science, software engineering, artificial intelligence, or a related field.

About the Institution

George Brown Polytechnic opened its doors in 1968, welcoming just over 2,000 students. In addition to programs in construction, early childhood education, dental services and the culinary arts – subjects they continue to teach – George Brown once offered programs that might not be quite as relevant today, like sign writing or watchmaking. Believe it or not, they even prepared students for careers at sea through a marine engineering program. Since then, the student population has grown to over 30,000. People come to George Brown from across the Greater Toronto Area, the country and the world to...
