Overview

The Award in Business Management and Study Skills programme at GBS Malta provides students with an academic and professional foundation in essential areas of contemporary business and management. It introduces key theories, practices, and applications across different types of organisations, as well as approaches to management and current topics in the field, while also familiarising students with project management in a business context. In addition, the programme develops the academic writing, communication, digital, and study skills required for success in higher education. Students are also supported in exploring their career aspirations and creating a structured career plan. The programme provides a solid foundation in business and management, alongside a broader base of knowledge and skills that prepares students for further study at higher education levels (MQF/EQF Levels 5 and 6) and for future careers in business organisations. The overall objectives of the Award in Business Management and Study Skills programme at GBS Malta are to enable students to develop an understanding and appreciation of the business environment in which organisations operate, explore different approaches to management and leadership, examine the impact of globalisation on businesses, and gain insight into contemporary topics in business and management. The programme also aims to strengthen effective study skills, career planning, communication, and the use of digital technologies, including e-business and digitalisation in the workplace.
