Overview

DELTA – Diploma in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages – is quite simply one of the best-known and most popular advanced TEFL/TESOL qualifications in the world. The course is awarded by the prestigious Cambridge University (Cambridge English Language Assessment) and can take a graduate's teaching career to the next level. Delta is suitable for first language and non-first language speakers of English working in primary, secondary and adult contexts who are seeking to progress further in their careers. It can be taken at any stage in a teacher’s career and is ideal for those wanting to update their teaching knowledge and improve their practice. Delta is often selected by experienced teachers seeking to continue to progress in their career and prepare for more senior roles in teacher training, material design, educational management, and other avenues in ELT. Delta can also facilitate progression to other qualifications, such as MAs in Linguistics and Language Teaching. Candidates taking Delta will normally have an initial English language teaching (ELT) qualification and will have had at least one year’s ELT experience. By taking Delta, students will: extend your knowledge and understanding of the principles and practice of English language teaching critically examine your current beliefs and practices as a teacher apply your new knowledge and understanding to your current teaching role extend your knowledge of English language teaching in contexts other than adult learners receive an internationally recognized, highly respected advanced-level teaching certificate
