Overview

International Incorporated Bachelors (IIB) - Stage One - Master of Arts - Business Economics with Marketing and History focuses on economic concepts, theories, and principles, and how these are applied to business activities within organisations and across the wider business world. Students develop a strong understanding of the role of marketing in today’s multi-channel environment and how it fits into a wider organisational context. To become effective marketers capable of allocating resources and identifying growth opportunities, students examine the economic factors influencing target markets, with particular attention to emerging markets. In History, students study social, cultural, and political history from the early modern period to the contemporary era, with a particular focus on the British Isles, Europe, the Americas, Africa, and India. The course places strong emphasis on ‘doing history’, with students using primary sources from the beginning of their studies. They analyse a wide range of historical evidence, including written and oral sources, maps, visual images, feature films, art, and music. Students explore how sources and media shape interpretations of the past, critically reflect on key historical debates and how they have evolved over time, and examine how historians construct history. They also evaluate the role of historians in public life, the media, and the heritage industry.
