Overview

The IS1 program is the equivalent of the first year of a four-year Scottish undergraduate degree. This program is designed to help students develop their academic knowledge and skills within their subject area. Participants will also focus on improving their English academic literacy in preparation for continuing onto their chosen undergraduate degree at the University of Dundee. Students will study the IS1 across two or three terms, depending on their entry qualifications. After successful completion, they will progress directly to Year 2 of their chosen undergraduate degree at the University of Dundee. Bachelor of Design (Honours) - Textile Design As part of a vibrant studio and workshop culture, students will develop skills in traditional textile processes like screen printing and knit and stitch, alongside more contemporary technologies like 3D printing and laser cutting. Through these mediums, students will build and expand their knowledge of colour, structure, pattern, and form. Dundee is a UNESCO City of Design and home to the V&A Dundee. The city has a rich textile history, and many of our graduates establish themselves in the surrounding area, as well as across the world.
