Overview

At the center of autonomous systems, machine learning is when an application can learn and improve from data and experience, without being programmed to do so and with minimal to no human contact. This technology is fundamental to be able to predict, plan and sense the environment. As one of the few programs of its kind in the United States, students will gain the skills needed to immediately join a growing field. Machine learning and autonomous systems have already changed the future, and will continue to change the way we live and work. They are enhancing healthcare, workplace safety, transportation, space exploration and even aspects of daily life. The rapid technological growth means there are not enough skilled employees to meet industry demands. Career opportunities in this industry are expected to grow 15% in recent years.
