Overview

Program Description Our Sports Management degree programs provide students with a strong foundation in management, finance, accounting, marketing, communications, ethics and legal aspects of business. Specific courses in Sports Management and Marketing provide students with an understanding of the role of sports in society and the role of management in sports, as well as opportunities to apply their knowledge in sports-related organizations. Career opportunities abound in areas like professional sports, amateur sports, youth sports, recreation facilities, and athletic administration. Graduates will establish an understanding of the full range of business and sports management concepts, develop strong business writing and verbal communication skills appropriate to the field, gain exposure to the sports management industry through practical learning and field experiences, and acquire skills for professional, managerial, and sports management positions. An Associate degree in Sports Management prepares students for entry-level positions in the growing field of sports management. Students earning a Bachelor’s degree in Sports Management will be prepared to pursue managerial positions in the field.

OPT and STEM OPT eligibility depend on maintaining F-1 status and on the program. A program counts as STEM only when its CIP code is on the official STEM list — not because its name sounds technical.
