Part of the Kimbell School of Geosciences Those preparing for a career in or an advanced degree that builds on environmental sciences will do so by completing a Bachelor of Science degree in Geosciences, Environmental Sciences track. The actual coursework can focus on geosciences, biology, or chemistry. Regardless of specific interests, Environmental Science students will be part of the Kimbell School of Geosciences, an exciting and dynamic academic department within the College of Science and Mathematics. The department's scholarship, employment opportunities, and facilities are available to students. More than Geosciences The diverse nature of modern environmental science requires a strong background in a directly applicable science. As a B.S. Geosciences major, Environmental Sciences track, students can choose one of three concentration options in biology, chemistry, or geosciences. Each option requires additional coursework in that discipline beyond the interdisciplinary requirements, including electives that provide either a broad or specialized view of the Earth and its environments. Internship program The Environmental Science internship provides invaluable skills and contacts. Students routinely complete internships locally and nationally, in areas ranging from environmental science education, water sampling and analysis at local and national governmental agencies, environmental testing and consulting, and biological surveying.
