Overview

The Social Work Diploma Program at Northwestern Polytechnic prepares students to support and assist diverse individuals, families, and communities with a focus on rural, northern, and Indigenous contexts. Students are trained to become ethical and compassionate professionals who can enhance access to resources and services while addressing systemic challenges. The curriculum encompasses core social work theory and practice, fieldwork experiences, and land-based learning opportunities. Graduates are equipped for entry into the social work profession and are eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Social Workers. Additionally, the program provides a solid foundation for those who wish to pursue a Bachelor of Social Work degree.
