Overview

This program combines two key certificate programs in Health and Human Services; 1-year Health Care Assistant PLUS 1-year Community Mental Health Worker (CMHW). Graduates of this 2-year combined program will be qualified to work in a diverse range of frontline health care settings. HCAs are respected members of a health care team, and provide hands-on support to clients, with the direction and supervision of LPNs, RNs, and other health professionals. CMHWs provide crucial supports to individuals with mental health challenges. Demand for HCAs and CMHWs in the Canadian job market is high. Applicants will be admitted to this program on a ‘first qualified, first paid’ basis.
