Overview

The Master of Public Health (MPH) program in Global Health Equity is designed to train the next generation of innovative global public health practitioners to assume leadership roles in the identification and elimination of health disparities. The Master of Public Health is an interdisciplinary professional degree program that prepares graduates for a variety of careers that integrate health equity within research and practice. The hybrid modality uses in-person and online formats that are designed to allow for flexibility while leveraging Pace University’s superior location in the heart of New York City. This specialized concentration in global health equity provides students with the training needed to partner effectively with communities around the world in the design, implementation, and assessment of evidence-based interventions that aim to reduce health inequities and improve population health. Graduates of the MPH in Global Health Equity will master the application of foundational skills in epidemiology, health policy, behavioral and social determinants of health, biostatistics, environmental health, within an intensive curriculum of specialized courses in social epidemiology, interventions for global health equity, and policy analysis for health equity. Students will learn innovative approaches to interprofessional leadership from dedicated faculty practitioners. Applied practice and integrated learning experiences will enable students to develop and deliver relevant work products to organizations and to consolidate their training with a capstone project and thesis. The expertise gained within the MPH in Global Health Equity will empower students to use the science of public health to improve the lives of affected communities.
