Overview

The BSc (Hons) in International Software Design focuses on developing high levels of intellectual awareness and professional competence in software development within a global context. As software drives the creation of innovative applications and services across industries, the programme emphasises the international dimension of the field, preparing graduates to understand the needs and preferences of diverse cultures and develop software that can be used across global markets. The programme delivers an integrated approach to end-to-end software development, combining practical problem-solving skills with critical knowledge of industry-standard technologies and practices. It is designed to equip students with the technical expertise and professional skills necessary for success in a globalised software industry. The programme aligns with European higher education mobility benchmarks established under the strategic framework for European cooperation in education and training (ET 2020), which recommends that at least 20% of higher education graduates experience study or work placements abroad. International study and placement experience have been shown to significantly improve employment outcomes, with Eastern European students who have studied internationally being more than five times less likely to experience long-term unemployment, and former Erasmus+ participants in Southern Europe demonstrating substantially lower unemployment and higher employment rates even 5–10 years after graduation.
