Overview

The dual master’s in social work and master’s in criminal justice program provides excellent preparation for clinical and managerial social work careers within the United States criminal justice system, and in community-based programs focused on crime prevention. Equipped with both degrees, students will be ready to provide trauma-informed interventions, assist people with addiction and behavioral health problems, and manage programs focused on social justice and equity. The Master of Social Work (MSW) program at the University at Albany is fully accredited by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE), which meets the education qualification for master and clinical social work licensure in New York State.
