Overview

Program Description If students are considering a career in finance the MSc International Financial Management course at Swansea University will give them the knowledge and skills they need. The programme will help students develop an advanced and in-depth understanding of the academic theory of finance, with a strong practical perspective, giving them a significant edge in this competitive global sector. Students don’t need a background in accounting or finance to study this one year conversion course. It’s designed for students from any background who are interested in moving into a career in finance. It’s designed to enhance their undergraduate study and accelerate them into their chosen profession anywhere in the world. The programme is accredited by the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) and includes exemption from up to five ACCA Fundamental exams. This is based on students' prior learning and prevents them having to study the same topics they’ve already been taught. From the moment students arrive at the School of Management staff will work with them to help build their skills and experience to enhance their career prospects. Students will have unlimited one to one bespoke careers advice from Swansea's dedicated careers team. Students can go on a work placement or internship through the Swansea Paid Internship Network (SPIN) or the Week of Work initiative. Swansea has an excellent track record of placing graduates with major multinational companies. The MSc International Financial Management programme, with its ACCA accreditation, will prove to employers students have the ability in all aspects of business and that they are strategic thinkers with strong financial know how and the right business acumen. Student's next step could lie in any of these roles: Assistant Tax Advisor, IT Consultant, Trainee Accountant, and Recruitment Consultant.
