Overview

The Bachelor of Arts in English Literature and Creative Writing will enable students to deepen their understanding of literary texts while also developing creative writing skills. This well-balanced course enables them to immerse themselves in the study of prose, poetry and drama from a variety of periods, while at the same honing their own writing craft in practical seminars, lectures and workshops. The University of Gloucestershire's a closely knit community where students receive personal attention and help with their individual development, and all the University's teaching staff are practicing, published writers and academics. Graduates will see their work performed by actors in a staged reading, and get published in the University's annual paperback anthology, the New Writing Series. As well as helping them to become a better writer, this degree will equip them with a range of skills and experiences they can take into any workplace that values communication, creativity, critical thinking skills and teamwork.
