Overview

Students will explore cinematographic design approaches and basic film editing concepts in current film formats and genres. The Film & Motion Design curriculum provides students with an insight into the film industry as well as the skills and knowledge to enhance their careers. Choosing to study Film and Motion Design opens a multitude of opportunities and UE’s curriculum supports this with the option of a semester abroad or internship during the fifth semester. The varied curriculum allows students to explore their favoured areas of the film industry and during the latter stages of the bachelor’s in film & motion design, they can tailor the programme to match their skill set and career goals. With a focus on time-based design, the Film & Motion Design programme prepares students for a variety of current and future professions in the fields of animation, film, design, scenography and media art. Job opportunities for graduates are as varied as the media landscape itself. After graduation, students will have a wide range of interdisciplinary skills as motion designers, digital designer or film designer. They will be employed or freelance for agencies, television stations, film or game productions in the entertainment industry, the liberal arts, advertising or knowledge transfer in the media production of museums, trade fairs, theatres and event stages.
