Overview

With a combined Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Management (B.A./B.Mgt.) or a Bachelor of Science/Bachelor of Management (B.Sc./B.Mgt.) degree, students can explore a multitude of interests and careers. For example, for candidates who are interested in managing an art gallery, they can major in art and general management. For those who are interested in sports marketing, they can major in kinesiology and marketing. The Combined B.A./B.Mgt. or B.Sc./B.Mgt. degree program takes five years (50 courses) to complete and leads to the conferral of two degrees. Psychology delves into what makes people tick. Psychologists study the relationship between mind and behavior by investigating the nature of thought processes and behaviors in humans and other animals. Psychologists also study the evolutionary, social and cultural factors affecting the development of human thoughts and behaviors, focusing on topics that have a direct bearing on people's day-to-day experience. A major in Psychology will help students develop skills in analyzing and interpreting complex material, particularly as it relates to behavior. They will learn theories of how people interpret the world and act in it, as well as theories of human behavior. Psychology students will learn from those at the forefront of psychological research. The faculty members are regularly published in the top journals and make an ongoing contribution to an ever-advancing field. Students will inevitably become savvy and critical consumers of evidence-based information related to people’s behavior such as self-help, psychological and medical advice. Management is leading others to accomplish common goals in business. Today’s managers are people oriented, creative, adaptable and strong communicators. They have to know how to deal effectively with rapidly changing environments, work successfully with small and large teams, live and work by principles of ethics and social responsibility and be aware of responsibilities to sustainability. General management students study topics such as marketing, organizational behavior, introductory accounting, managing responsibly in a global environment, human resources management, policy and strategy and probability and statistics. They will draw from fields such as history, English, political science, economics and sociology.
