Overview

Our Master of Engineering Management (MEM) is a specialised professional Master’s degree, designed to bridge the critical gap between engineering, technology, and business management. The challenges facing engineering leaders of the future are immense. Cost, margin and 'value for money' pressures continue to grow and the pace of technology development continues to increase. Exploitation of the new design space enabled by advanced manufacturing methods is becoming a key advantage for firms, and there is a growing recognition that engineering functional performance strongly correlates to a company's overall rates of return. There is a shortage of professionals who possess both the outstanding technical and management skills in equal measure; this interdisciplinary course has been designed to create the engineering leaders of the future by addressing the core issue head-on. Combining advanced technical knowledge with core business and leadership principles, our course ensures graduates are able to operate effectively at the intersection of innovation and organisational strategy. The primary goal of the MEM is to equip engineers and technical professionals with the strategic, managerial and analytical skills required to oversee complex engineering projects, lead high-performing teams and drive innovation in a rapidly evolving technological landscape. Graduates are well-prepared to assume leadership roles in industries such as manufacturing, information technology, construction, energy, aerospace, and more, where both technical proficiency and business acumen are essential for success.
