Overview

The Occupational Health Science (OHS) program at University of North Alabama (UNA) is one of only four ABET accredited Bachelors-level programs in the United States. What makes this program even more unique is the emphasis placed on chemistry. Students who complete this program receive a minor in chemistry. This emphasis has been repeatedly commended by employers of graduates due to the technical expertise acquired by students. The OHS program at UNA is a long-time recipient of a NIOSH (National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health) Training Project Grant which provides Academic Scholarships to qualified OHS students. High quality instruction by expert faculty: Full time faculty with Ph.D.’s in Occupational Health Faculty are also certified by the Board for Global EHS Credentialing® (formerly known as the American Board of Industrial Hygiene) and Board of Certifies Safety Professionals® CIH (Certified Industrial Hygienist) CSP (Certified Safety Professional)
