Overview

Program Description Technological advances can prolong life, but they aren’t available to everyone. Wilfrid Laurier University have health-care systems that offer treatments when they get sick, but why do they fall ill in the first place? And why do only some people use the health care system when they are sick. The Health Studies program provides with student broad understanding of the diverse factors affecting the provision, management and utilization of health care, both domestically and internationally. Student will take a blend of health studies, leadership, and management courses to provide they with an overview of the factors influencing health and illness and an understanding of Canadian health-care systems. Graduates of the program will be prepared for important nonclinical roles in the health-care sector across Canada.

In all, we have 19,000 undergraduate and graduate students. Kitchener-Waterloo, with a population of about 350,000, is small enough to be safe and easy to navigate but large enough to o...
