About IU International University of Applied Sciences

Founded on the idea of empowering people to succeed in a digital world, IU International University of Applied Sciences first came into existence in 1998. And since receiving accreditation from the German Council of Science and Humanities, IU’s grown into Germany’s biggest university. The university's mission is to create inclusive, global and wholly accessible education. It’s why IU has been at the forefront of online learning for over a decade. It’s how IU made it possible for students to learn from anywhere and at any time — using the fully integrated digital platform, innovative learning tools and virtual classrooms.

IU International University of Applied Sciences is state-recognised by the federal government of Thuringen, Germany, and its degrees are recognised around the world. For over 20 years, IU has established partnerships with leading global companies. This offers students the chance to gain firsthand experience through internships and projects and allow IU instructors to adapt the learning content to the ever-evolving needs of the labour market. Students will benefit from an education designed to bridge the gap between theory and real-world practice, ensuring their readiness for future careers. IU International University of Applied Science believes that the key for building high-quality study programmes is having a high-quality teaching staff. That’s why IU places an emphasis on finding the best professors and lecturers, whom all have to meet IU's high standards by having an excellent academic reputation, subject-specific expertise, practical experience and a strong international approach. IU’s advisory board, which offers expert advice to the university on research and education topics, consists of noted figures such as Jimmy Wales (Wikipedia), Raffaela Rein (Career Foundry), and Karina Montilla Edmonds (SAP), among others.
