About Lester B. Pearson School Board (LBPSB)

Lester B. Pearson School Board (LBPSB), one of the largest and most successful English school boards in Quebec, covers vast territory spanning Montreal’s West Island, extending to off-island and South-West regions, encompassing the richness of the city’s landscapes and the diversity of its people.

Through innovative pedagogy, immersive learning experiences, a board-wide mission of lifelong learning, and engagement with Montreal’s multicultural community, the Board successfully implements its educational mission to over 25,000 students across 37 elementary schools, 13 high schools, and 10 adult/vocational centres. The Lester B. Pearson School Board has the highest 5-year graduation rate in the province. This achievement is the result of a student-focused teaching philosophy; where dedicated teachers, administrators, and staff foster students’ academic and personal interests while providing support throughout their educational path. The Board is guided by 3 core values: Achievement, Wellness, and Engagement

Montreal is a rich multicultural mosaic bursting with activity. The Lester B. Pearson School Board prides itself in partnering with various communities and encourages students to bask in Montreal’s world-class festivals and events. By participating in such events, a global community of learning is achieved, where students’ cultural backgrounds are recognized and celebrated throughout The Lester B. Pearson School Board's community.

Why choose Lester B. Pearson School Board (LBPSB)

Location

Today, 120 distinct ethnic communities are represented in its population of more than 3.6 million, making Montréal a veritable mosaic of cultures and traditions. The world’s second-largest Francophone city after Paris, it merits the moniker ‘international’ city, a cosmopolitan centre with proud roots in the past that enthusiastically embraces the future. A world leader in such industries as aeronautics, information technology, and biotechnology, the city has also made significant innovations in medicine, multimedia, the arts, and urban planning. Its avant-garde spirit has not gone unnoticed: in 2006, Montréal was named a UNESCO City of Design.

Post-study work information

Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP). Graduating from a designated learning institution does not automatically make a student eligible for a PGWP; not every program at a DLI qualifies, and eligibility can depend on the program, language results, field of study and other requirements. Eligibility is checked for each program — see the program page.
