About Private University of Applied Sciences (PFH)

Private University of Applied Sciences offers eight Master's programmes in management and engineering, each designed to equip students with the skills and knowledge for a smooth transition into the job market. PFH programmes are tailored to meet industry demands, and class sizes are kept small to ensure individual attention for every student.

Recognised by the Lower Saxony Ministry of Science and Culture in 1995, PFH University of Applied Sciences is Lower Saxony's oldest private, state-recognised university. It was founded to align students to the real needs of the economy. Reaccredited by the Science Council, the university focuses on entrepreneurial thinking.

There are two campus locations, Göttingen and Stade, as well as numerous distance learning centres across Germany and Austria.

Practically-oriented study programmes: The content of PFH’s study programmes is geared to the real needs of business. Furthermore, all the PFH's on-campus study programmes contain a high practical element. Depending on the course of study, practical projects with collaborating companies, extensive work placements and/or technical qualification in laboratories and workshops complement the theoretical content. This will remove any reality shock that students may face when entering working life.

Effective Teaching Methodology: The demand for PFH graduates proves that the PFH's study programme concept is working well: 99 per cent of them find direct entry to a career in less than six months after completing their studies. Many are recruited even while they are studying.

Individual supervision rather than full lecture theatres: PFH’s courses take place in small groups as opposed to in lecture theatres where lecturers hardly know their students. Professors are always ready to listen to students and advise them about subjects relating to their studies as well as questions concerning their career path. A study programme at the PFH will develop students individually in terms of both their subject matter and personal skills. PFH attaches importance to students always having a contact person for their concerns during their studies and to their goals.
